Not long to go: The 2 players that Newcastle United should sign before time runs out

However, the summer transfer window has not attracted the big names that were expected to join the Magpies and with just over a month left of the transfer window, Rafa Benitez needs to get his skates on to ensure his team are ready for the start of the season.
Despite the lack of activity in the transfer window, our landlord believes that a manager with the pedigree of Benitez will not allow his club to be relegated, and has tipped his Geordie punters that they will see great things from their club this year.
The Magpies in the Tavern are less confident and they would like to see some areas strengthened before the start of the season, especially given the fact that many of the teams they perceive to be a similar ability to them are spending big money in strengthening their side.
The debate has rumbled on for a while now between the Newcastle fans and with time clearly running out, it is now squeaky bum time as the talks on who Benitez needs to bring in are coming to an end.
Our landlord has listened in on the debate and has listed there two players that Newcastle should sign before the window slams shut…

With Newcastle already signing Norwich wonderkid, Jacob Murphy – reports have materialised that they may dip back into the Championship and sign Sam Clucas from recently relegated, Hull City.
Clucas played 37 of the Tigers 38 Premier League games last season and with the ability to play at left back or left wing, our landlord believes he would be a very handy asset to Newcastle as they look to establish their place in the league this season.

Goals are like gold-dust in the Premier League and the resident Magpies in the Tavern feel that breaking the bank to bring Michy Batshuayi  from Chelsea, would be a great bit of business for their club, should it happen.
It may be a deal that depends on Batshuayi’s club, Chelsea, doing other business such as signing another striker but should that happen and a transfer merry-go-round occurs – our landlord believes Benitez should be right in there trying to secure to Belgium’s signature.
